More about this and that

Things have been a little hectic around here. I have been working on my website, trying to change the layout and add to it. I have also been working on remodeling our kitchen and breakfast nook. Have been quite busy, but am going to take part of the day Monday and go fishing. After all, I am retired.

Hope you noticed the picture of my wife with her fish. Those are rainbow trout that she caught in Mirror Lake next to Blanchard Springs Cavern in Arkansas. The lake was formed by daming the stream of the spring coming out of the cavern. We Spent six weeks there camping in our RV. We were there from Aug 19 to Oct 1 of this year.

The work we are doing remodeling is a goal we set to accomplish prior to going to Texas for the winter. We intend to leave for Texas between Christmas and New Years Day. We plan on returning about the first of April.

I started an ernest effort to build my website while we were in Arkansas. I know it will give me plenty to do while we are in Texas this winter. Looking forward to that.

I would like for this blog to become more than just a personal page. I would welcome any comments so that we might start a dialogue.

Until next time, Bless and good wishes.

Getting started

Are you Retired, or looking froward to it, but Not Retarded, & definitely Not Done?
Or are just not quite up to speed or just looking around?

Well, join the "club".

At times, I am simply amazed at how easily my grandchildren use the computer and utilize the internet. It seems so easy to them. They do everything from playing games, to "talking" to friends, to doing their homework. Some of them were on the computer, and using it before they could read. Even though that made me proud, I still felt a little envy at their proficiency.

So I decided to do something about it. I decided to educate myself about computers and "surfing" while using the World Wide Web.

You could do the same thing, if you wanted to.

I spent a lot of time and visited a lot of different sites to learn what I could. During that education process, I thought it would be nice if one could go to a single place and get a lot of information. I also thought that information should be Free. So I decided to build my own website and do that.

I did my own research, registered my domain name, obtained a webhost, designed the site, learned to write the code that is necessary, and then published it.

Retired, but Not Retarded, & definitely Not Done.
